H3C optical transceivers

H3C — the enterprise networking business majority-owned by New H3C Group, with a technology lineage shared with HPE's networking division — has a growing footprint in Gulf and African enterprise and data-centre deployments, and its optics use their own descriptive naming rather than the coded schemes of Cisco or Huawei. This page lists the 10G through 100G families documented in H3C's own transceiver modules user guide.

How to read these part numbers

H3C's naming is directly descriptive: SFP-XG-SX-MM850-A is a 10G ('XG') SFP+, short-reach ('SX'), multimode, 850nm; SFP-XG-LH80-SM1550 is 10G, long-haul 80km, singlemode, 1550nm. The same logic extends to SFP-25G and QSFP-40G/100G parts — reach class, fibre type and wavelength are all readable directly from the part number.

Ordering notes

Quote the exact H3C part number and confirm the switch or router platform and software version, since H3C — like most enterprise vendors — validates module coding at the port on current firmware. Condition is stated per quotation — new, new-surplus or refurbished — and where a destination does not admit used network equipment (Algeria is the usual example) we quote new. Hardware only: software licensing remains between the buyer and the manufacturer. Destination type approval and import permits (CST/SABER, TDRA, ICASA, CA, CMC, ARPCE) are the buyer's responsibility and we will say so on the quotation.

Lifecycle and availability

H3C's SFP-25G and QSFP-100G families are current production for its data-centre switching range; 10G SFP+ parts remain broadly current across H3C's enterprise switch lines.

Equipment condition

New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's own channel or a qualified distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.

New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Refurbished / tested — previously deployed equipment, cleaned, firmware-checked and functionally tested against the manufacturer's specification before shipment. CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Condition is confirmed in writing on every quotation before you commit to an order.

Warranty

Warranty terms vary by item, by condition and by the supplier the equipment is sourced from. They are stated in writing on the quotation, per line item, before you commit to an order.

Where equipment is supplied new through the manufacturer's own channel, the manufacturer's warranty applies and is passed to you.

Send us the part numbers you need and we will confirm warranty terms alongside availability, condition, lead time and price.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is H3C related to HPE networking equipment?

The two share a technology and engineering lineage from an earlier joint venture, and their optics naming conventions are similar as a result, but H3C is a separately operated business today — confirm platform compatibility with us rather than assuming HPE and H3C optics are interchangeable.

Can H3C's naming scheme be read the same way across all its optics?

Yes, consistently — reach class, fibre type (MM for multimode, SM for singlemode) and wavelength are encoded directly in the part number across the range we list, which makes H3C one of the more straightforward vendors to specify from a description alone.

Do you supply H3C optics for their data-centre switch range specifically?

Yes, including the 25G and 100G parts most relevant to data-centre and enterprise-core deployments; tell us the switch model and we will confirm the qualified optics list.
