Ordering notes

Confirm your exact MSH shelf and slot configuration before ordering — LTU cards are specific to the SDH platform generation they were built for. Condition is stated per quotation — new, new-surplus or refurbished — and all stock referenced on this page is refurbished/used and sold on that basis; where a destination does not admit used network equipment we will say so and quote accordingly. Hardware only: no manufacturer software licensing or support is available, as Marconi no longer operates as an independent company. Destination type approval and import permits (CST/SABER, TDRA, ICASA, CA, CMC, ARPCE) are the buyer's responsibility and we will flag this on the quotation.

Lifecycle and availability

Marconi Communications was the telecommunications equipment business of the former Marconi Corporation (UK). The bulk of that business, including its SDH/transmission and optical product lines, was acquired by Ericsson in a deal announced in October 2005 and completed in 2006. Marconi has not existed as an independent equipment vendor since, so the item listed here is long-discontinued legacy hardware, supplied as refurbished/used (REF) secondary-market stock with no current manufacturer support.

Equipment condition

New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's own channel or a qualified distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.

New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Refurbished / tested — previously deployed equipment, cleaned, firmware-checked and functionally tested against the manufacturer's specification before shipment. CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Condition is confirmed in writing on every quotation before you commit to an order.

Warranty

Warranty terms vary by item, by condition and by the supplier the equipment is sourced from. They are stated in writing on the quotation, per line item, before you commit to an order.

Where equipment is supplied new through the manufacturer's own channel, the manufacturer's warranty applies and is passed to you.

Send us the part numbers you need and we will confirm warranty terms alongside availability, condition, lead time and price.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Marconi still exist as a company?

No. The bulk of Marconi Communications' business, including its SDH transmission product lines, was acquired by Ericsson in 2006. Marconi-branded parts are legacy stock only, supplied as refurbished/used equipment with no manufacturer support.

What platform is the STM-1 LTU part of?

It belongs to Marconi's MSH (Multi-Service SDH) platform family, an SDH transmission system sold in MSH-16/MSH-64 class shelf configurations.

Can I get manufacturer support or a warranty on Marconi equipment?

No. Marconi has not operated as an independent company since its 2006 acquisition by Ericsson, so there is no manufacturer support, software licensing or warranty available — the equipment is supplied as refurbished/used legacy stock.
