Huawei UBBPg2a — universal baseband processing unit
The UBBPg2a is Huawei’s g-series universal baseband processing unit, carrying UMTS, LTE FDD and TDD, NB-IoT and both NR FDD and NR TDD on a single board. Two things separate it commercially from the boards either side of it in the family: it is the first of the series to carry eCPRI fronthaul alongside CPRI, and it is the highest g-series board that still fits a BBU3910. That second point costs buyers money regularly, because it is not what most reseller listings say.

Before you order
Huawei’s own board-to-chassis mapping stops at UBBPg2a for the BBU3910 — the UBBPg3 will not run in one. If a site has 3910 chassis, the g2a is the ceiling, whatever a listing claims. Equally, the g2a is not listed for the older BBU3900 despite many resellers saying it is.
Equipment condition
New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's authorised channel or an authorised distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.
New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.
Refurbished / tested — previously deployed equipment, cleaned, firmware-checked and functionally tested against the manufacturer's specification before shipment. CRS PLUS warranty applies.
