Brocade Fibre Channel SFP+ transceivers
Brocade Communications Systems built Fibre Channel storage-area-network switching alongside an IP/Ethernet networking business assembled largely through its 2008 acquisition of Foundry Networks. Broadcom acquired Brocade in November 2017 for approximately $5.9 billion; as part of the same restructuring, Brocade's IP networking (data centre networking) business was divested to Extreme Networks and its Ruckus Wireless unit was divested separately, while the core Fibre Channel SAN switching business — and its associated optics — remained with Broadcom. The single item we carry here, an 8G Fibre Channel SFP+, belongs to that Broadcom-retained Fibre Channel product line; our current Brocade catalogue is limited to this one part and we are not presenting it as a broader Brocade range.
How to read these part numbers
57-1000012-01 is an 8Gbit/s Fibre Channel short-wave-laser (SWL) SFP+, 850nm, for multimode fiber runs on Brocade Fibre Channel SAN switches. It is a storage-fabric optic, not an Ethernet optic, and is not interchangeable with an IP-networking SFP.

Lifecycle and availability
Broadcom has owned Brocade's Fibre Channel SAN switching business, including this optic, since completing its acquisition of Brocade in November 2017. It remains a current, compatible part for Brocade Fibre Channel switches still in service; we supply it refurbished or used-tested.
Equipment condition
New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's authorised channel or an authorised distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.
New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.
