Valves
Daniel Series 700 control valves and 788DVC spare parts
Daniel Series 700 valves are piston-type, pilot-operated control valves for liquid hydrocarbon service: batch delivery at truck, rail and marine loading terminals, back-pressure and pressure-reducing duty on meter runs, and surge relief on pipelines. The 788DVC Digital Control Valve works with an electronic batch controller to set flow rate and batch quantity. CRS PLUS sources complete valves and the spare parts that keep them in service, including O-rings by material code, O-ring kits, pistons, seat rings, springs and pilot solenoids.

Ordering 788DVC O-rings and seals
Daniel O-rings carry a six-digit base number for the Buna-N (NBR) compound and a dash suffix for the other elastomers: -005 EPR, -022 FKM, -027 FKM GFLT, -029 FKM V1289, -075 FFKM, -116 CR and -120 low-swell NBR. 152078-022 is therefore the FKM version of O-ring 152078, item 5 on the 4 in (NPS 4) 788DVC. Item and part numbers change with valve size, so the valve size and serial number are confirmed before a spare-parts list is quoted.
The current 788DVC manual lists FKM as the standard O-ring material. The AP (aggressive products) option, with Bal-seals and a dedicated piston, is used for alcohols, MTBE and other oxygenates. Where a valve is being fully resealed, the O-ring kit for its size and indicator option is usually more economical than individual rings.
How the 788DVC works
The 788DVC is a normally closed, piston-type valve controlled by two solenoid pilots, one normally open and one normally closed, which the batch controller switches to open, hold or close the valve. This lets the preset run low-flow start-up, high-flow delivery, low-flow shut-down and final shut-off, and the valve closes on loss of power.
The piston sits at 45° in the body, with no diaphragm or stuffing box, and the internals lift out as a cartridge without removing the valve from the line. Pilot spares include the 1710 pilot (456910) and 1711 pilot (456960) assemblies and their solenoids, quoted against the voltage and approval on the valve.
Documentation and supply terms
- Identification
- Each line is quoted against the manufacturer catalogue or part number. Where the correct part depends on the valve model, size or build, these are confirmed from the nameplate or serial number before the quotation is issued.
- Condition and origin
- Each quotation states the manufacturer, part number, condition (new or new surplus), origin and lead time. An equivalent part is offered only where the original is unavailable, and is identified as an equivalent on the quotation.
- Elastomer material
- Seal, O-ring and diaphragm material (NBR, FKM, EPDM, CR or FFKM) is stated on every line exactly as coded by the manufacturer, so that the replacement matches the material in service.
- Hazardous-area certification
- Where an item carries ATEX, IECEx, UL or CSA approval, the certificate reference and declaration of conformity are supplied with it.
- Quotation
- Listing does not indicate stock held by CRS PLUS. Lead time, certification and warranty are stated per quotation.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is Daniel part number 152078-022?
It is the FKM (Viton) version of O-ring 152078, item 5 in the parts list of the 4 in (NPS 4) Daniel 788DVC digital control valve. One is fitted per valve. The base number 152078 is the Buna-N version.
Is Daniel still part of Emerson?
Emerson sold Daniel Measurement and Control to Turnspire Capital Partners in 2021 and kept the ultrasonic flowmeter business. Control valves, turbine meters and orifice fittings continue under the Daniel name; Daniel ultrasonic meters are now sold by Emerson under the Rosemount brand.
Which O-ring kit fits a 4 in 788DVC?
W540055 for a valve without indicator, W540155 with position indicator and W540555 with visual indicator, with the suffix for the elastomer: -690 Buna-N, -692 FKM, -695 FFKM, -697 EPR.
Can the 788DVC internals be replaced without removing the valve?
Yes. The piston, cylinder and seat lift out as a cartridge with the valve left in the line.
What sizes does the 788DVC come in?
NPS 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8, with Cv of 86, 186, 309, 688 and 1,296, in ANSI 150 and 300 and DIN PN16 to PN64.
Do you supply other Daniel products?
Yes. Daniel Series 1200 and 1500 liquid turbine meters and Senior and Simplex orifice fittings, with their spare parts, are quoted on request.
