Valves
ISOIL Isovalve loading valves and spare diaphragms
Isovalve is the diaphragm-actuated automatic valve made by ISOIL Impianti S.p.A. of Italy for tank-truck loading terminals and petroleum and chemical transfer lines. Installed downstream of the meter, it uses the pressure of the product passing through it to open and close, under the command of two explosion-proof solenoid pilots driven by the batch controller. CRS PLUS sources complete Isovalve assemblies and the diaphragms, O-rings, springs and pilot-circuit parts used to overhaul them.

Isovalve spare parts
From the ISOIL 3 in / 4 in Isovalve maintenance manual. The 3 in and 4 in base valves use different diaphragm and O-ring codes, so the valve size is confirmed from the nameplate before quoting.

NBR or FKM diaphragm
ISOIL builds the standard Isovalve with a nitrile (NBR) diaphragm and supplies Viton (FKM) on request; 80ME1000 and 80ME1001 are the NBR and FKM diaphragms for the same position in the base valve. NBR is the usual choice for diesel, gas oil, fuel oil and kerosene. FKM is generally preferred for gasoline containing ethanol or other oxygenates, high-aromatic products and biodiesel blends above B20.
The replacement should normally match the material already fitted. If the product handled by the loading arm has changed since the valve was installed, the material is confirmed with the operator before the quotation is issued.
How Isovalve works
The valve shutter is moved by the diaphragm, using the energy of the product itself, so the valve needs no electric or pneumatic actuator. Two Ex solenoid valves, one normally open and one normally closed, direct the product in the pilot circuit. With both de-energised the valve closes rapidly; with both energised it opens fully; with the normally open solenoid de-energised and the normally closed one energised it settles at the low-flow rate set on the stem valve.
The pilot circuit includes a strainer, control valve, non-return valve, the two solenoids, a stem valve, an ejector and a pressure-reducing valve. Standard working temperature is -10 to +50 °C and standard viscosity up to 76 cSt, with 76 to 300 cSt on request.
Documentation and supply terms
- Identification
- Each line is quoted against the manufacturer catalogue or part number. Where the correct part depends on the valve model, size or build, these are confirmed from the nameplate or serial number before the quotation is issued.
- Condition and origin
- Each quotation states the manufacturer, part number, condition (new or new surplus), origin and lead time. An equivalent part is offered only where the original is unavailable, and is identified as an equivalent on the quotation.
- Elastomer material
- Seal, O-ring and diaphragm material (NBR, FKM, EPDM, CR or FFKM) is stated on every line exactly as coded by the manufacturer, so that the replacement matches the material in service.
- Hazardous-area certification
- Where an item carries ATEX, IECEx, UL or CSA approval, the certificate reference and declaration of conformity are supplied with it.
- Quotation
- Listing does not indicate stock held by CRS PLUS. Lead time, certification and warranty are stated per quotation.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Which diaphragm do I need, 80ME1000 or 80ME1001?
Both fit the same position in the base valve. 80ME1000 is nitrile (NBR), the standard material; 80ME1001 is Viton (FKM), used for gasoline with ethanol or other oxygenates and high-aromatic products. Order the material already fitted unless the product has changed.
Do the 3 in and 4 in Isovalve use the same diaphragm?
No. The two base-valve sizes have different diaphragm codes (80ME1000 / 80ME1001 and 80ME1012 / 80ME1011), so the valve size is confirmed from the nameplate before quoting.
Who manufactures Isovalve?
ISOIL Impianti S.p.A. of Albano Sant’Alessandro, Bergamo, Italy, which also makes positive-displacement meters and VEGA batch controllers for loading terminals. It is a separate company from ISOIL Industria, which makes Isomag electromagnetic flowmeters.
What solenoid supply does Isovalve use?
The standard is 230 V AC 50 Hz Ex solenoids with brass bodies. 24 V DC and 115 V AC solenoids with stainless steel bodies are available on request.
Can Isovalve be used on LPG?
ISOIL offers a special LPG execution on request. It is quoted as a separate build, not as a conversion of a standard valve.
Do you supply other ISOIL loading equipment?
Yes. ISOIL SBM and BM positive-displacement meters, VEGA batch controllers, strainers and gas separators are quoted on request.
