The SFP-10G-SR is Cisco's 10 Gigabit short-reach optic for multimode fibre, and the SFP-10G-SR-S is its enterprise-class version with the same optical specification. Together they are the most requested Cisco 10G optics, used for switch uplinks, server connections and data-centre links of up to a few hundred metres.

Variants and part-number suffixes
SFP-10G-SR-S is Cisco's S-class (enterprise-class) variant, with the same optics and reach, intended for enterprise and data-centre Ethernet. It is normally the lower-cost of the two and is the version most enterprise buyers specify. SFP-10G-SR-X is the extended-temperature version for industrial and outdoor platforms.
SFP-10G-SR and SFP-10G-SR-S are priced differently and are not the same line item; quote the exact code on your bill of materials.

Cisco switches check the vendor code written into each module and will reject or flag an unsupported one, so give the switch model and IOS / IOS XE / NX-OS release with the enquiry. Is SFP-10G-SR-S the same as SFP-10G-SR?
Same optical specification and reach. The -S version is Cisco's S-class (enterprise-class) module and is normally the cheaper option. Most platforms that accept one accept the other; check your platform's compatibility matrix if in doubt.
What distance does SFP-10G-SR support?
Up to 300 m over OM3 and 400 m over OM4 multimode fibre. For single-mode links up to 10 km use the SFP-10G-LR.
Do you supply SFP-10G-SR in volume?
